A standard appartment, well cleaned and furnished neately. A single bed sat in the middle of the bedroom and alongside it, a single bedside table with a small lamp and digital clock atop it and 2 drawers. The beds furnished with standard black doonas and blankes, and white pillows. Towels lined the rack in the combined bathroom and toilet, fresh soap shampoo and hair conditioner inside the holders in the shower/bathtub. A television set sat atop a small wall unit oposite the foot of the bed.

Merryl unlocks the door to her room, and pushes it open. It had been a long day for sure, and this FBI agent needed to get ready for some sleep. She yawned as she entered the otherwise unremarkable and simple room. She flicks on the lamp upon the dresser and a dim light illuminates the room. Shadows danced and skittered about for a second, and finally stilling once the small lamp finally settled. Merryl stretches out, arching her back and raised her arms above her head for a moment before letting them drop at her sides. "Ah...I need a shower." she says softly. She removed her gun belt and took out the inhaler from the sidepack, placing it on the dresser beside the lamp and clock. She opens the dresser and rummages through an assortment of clothes, pulling out a battleship gray tank top and a lighter gray thong. She pulls out the random contents of her pockets and slips off her shoes; placing them in the corner of the room beside the door. Taking her pj's with her she also grabs a towel before entering the bathroom and closed the door behind her. Locking it.

She turns on the faucet in the shower, letting the water run to get warmer. Flicking her hand of water she unbuttons her shirt and unzips her pants. She slides off the powder blue shirt and folds it before placing it on a rack. She then pulls down her pants, and folded that too before placing it upon the same rack. Now, she was left with a matching black bra and thong, but not for long. She reaches back removing the clip that held back her bra. The black dainty straps fell down her shoulders as the cache was released, falling further down her arms when she bent over a smudge to remove her thong. She tossed the the under garment onto the folded pile on the rack and soon with it the matching bra.

Steam began to rise from the shower now, fogging up the mirror. She looks at herself briefly, and see's nothing wrong with her body before turning to the shower. Her slightly less than average bust jiggled only a tad due to their lack of support as she steps into the hot shower and draws the curtain over. Inside the shower she brings the shower head to her face-the water spraying all over her face pushing back her hair and running down the length and curves of her body. It was a relaxing feeling, and she loved being wet. She was a former Olympic swimmer, and always enjoyed the water before her training. Even after she was disqualified, she still enjoyed swimming the distance.

She pulls her head away from the shower head and half opens her eyes. Turning her vision to the bar of soap, she grabbed it and lathered it in her hands till it was nice and foamy between her hands. She then glides both soap and foam over her skin, starting with her arms and then leading to her breasts and her torso, then into her lower regions. She scrubbed lightly over her more 'sensitive' area of her pelvis, expelling a light giggle as she passed over it before reaching behind her where she spreads the suds over the larger curves of her buttocks, feeling the foam spread from both cheeks before she steps back into the jet stream of water. Placing the soap back onto the shelf, she wipes away the suds from her body with a cloth, and turns so the water could aid in be ridding of the white foamy patches. When she is finished, she reaches out of the shower, grabbing the bottle of shampoo and brings it into the watery fray.

Like the soap, she first lathers the creamy white solution in her hands before she digs into her short reddish hair. She scrubs and plays with her hair, her eyes closed all the while to prevent any solution getting into her eyes. She rinses off by bringing the shower head leveled to her head and spraying into her roots. Soapy water washed down and over her curves again, and after another quick soak (for relaxation's sake) she turns the faucet off and the water stops flowing from the shower head. Standing in the steaming shower, the dripping sounds of water falling into a pool below her feet that was being drained was truly the only sound she could hear. She pulls back her saturated hair, and wipes her eyes with the back of her hand before fluttering her eyelashes open.

She reaches out grabbing her towel before pulling away the curtain. She wraps the towel around her head, drying it off as best as she could before turning the other dry side over around her body. She plays with the towel for a moment, drying her body off with it before wrapping it around her breasts and torso and pelvis, tying it firm so that it held up.
Stepping out of the shower area, she takes her brush and blow dryer and begins to make work on her hair. The hot fumes from the blow dryer pushed away any saturation that had remained. After her hair was brushed and dried, she took her toothbrush and made work on her mouth. Finishing with mouth wash, she gargles and then spits into the basin before rinsing the porcelain. Turning to her pajamas consisting of the gray tank and light gray panties, she removes her towel and tosses it into the laundry chute. She first slips the tank top on over her head, covering her unsupported chest with the darker gray and dry cloth. The outline of her nipples were clearly able to be seen protruding from the cloth's simple drape. She then reaches down, her bosom freely hanging with her under the tank when she slips one leg after another between the thong and she pulls the dainty cloth up. She reaches back, pulling the thinner strap up and partly between her butt's cheeks. Turning to the mirror again she examines her face before finally exiting the room.

Back into her sleeping quarters, the woman walks across the soft rug of her apartment, her rear swaying left to right with a slight jiggle as she made her way to the draped over windows. She slowly pulls back the drapes and unfolds the blinds to stare out into the street. She looks a little disturbed. She knows...somewhere out there, there was a man or woman...perhaps a team of people who were kidnapping individuals still at large...and she vowed that she would solve this case and put those responsible behind bars for a long time.

Though, it was a calming night. Pretty warm too, yet not humid. She opens the window a crack, and feels the warm breeze drift inside. She looks to the moon and grins, closing the blinds again she heads towards the direction of the TV where her laptop bag was leaning against the wall. She hunkers down and unzips the bag, revealing a thin silver laptop that she lifts from inside and takes with her to her soft bed where she bounces onto, folding her knees together and crossed over one another in an 'indian fashion'. She lifts the screen of the laptop up and powers it on. After typing her 12 digit password she logs on to her FBI internet connection. It seemed the director had no reports for her to read or any notices so she logs out and then scrolls over to the internet. She logs onto her private email, and looks through the messages she had not opened. One towards the top of the list of seven unread messages was from a Jean Bierston. She furrows her eyebrow at the name, and grudgingly looks over to the title topic: RE: We need to talk...

She clicks the empty box beside his name and sends the message to the trashbin without so much as viewing it's contents. She did not want to speak to him, in any way or form. He was no longer welcome into her life, especially after she discovered him with his editor Cassandra. She told her former fiance several times that it was over, but it just never sunk in with him. She deletes the rest of the emails which were either spam or some Catholic singles garbage. "For Pete's sake, I'm Lutheran, stop sending me this crap." she sighs, closing the lid of her computer and gets out of bed to slip it back into the bag before slowly returning to her bed. She drops her body limply face down onto the soft surface, her face buried into the pillows. She breathes slowly, turning her head so that her cheek may rest upon the pillow, her hazel eyes looking at the inhaler upon the dresser. She let out another smooth breath and closes her eyes.

She hadn't told her boss that she had asthma...though she only just found out recently. Instead as she was preparing for her first solo mission, she had insisted that it was only a chest cold, and her doctor had told her to use it till she felt better. She didn't think her chances would be great if she told him that if she gets to short of breath she could get into an asthma attack and possibly die.

"That would really shoot my chances down for an applicant of the DSO..." she says out loud, partly muffled by her pillow. She had wanted to work for the Department of Special Operations since it's formation under the current President a couple months back. She wanted to aid the fight against Bioterrorism, just like the BSAA but on a more Government level. But she wondered how she could get in with these recent events. She opens her eyes again, and curls up against her pillow. She couldn't give up, her future career was potentially riding on this case and she would see it through to the end.

Feeling drowsy now, she reaches across her bed and over the dresser, flicking the switch off. Closing her eyes, and laying on her side atop her covers, the woman shuts herself down, and slumbers silently in the relative darkness of the room; the only light was that of the moon shining through the closed blinds, illuminating them with their silvery glow.

Room 14: Merryl's Apartment Empty
PostSubject: Merryl's Nightmare   Room 14: Merryl's Apartment Icon_minitimeThu Apr 25, 2013 5:26 am

After entering a deep slumber, Merryl's dreams turned to the man she had met in the alley outside the bar she dragged her hero and idol Damien into.

"Do you know about what happened 13 years ago, off the pacific coast? When the video fottage of that gigantic BOW that destroyed an island chain several leagues from Rockfort Island and killed over 4 million people in an instant? That BOW was once Damien Handy's best friend and fellow Raccoon survivor Edgar Holden..."

Merryl was standing upon the the cratered and burned beach of Rockfort island, and she could see the titanic monsterous dragon-beast form of the creature of nightmares. It's crimson eyes full of hate and rage flashed brightly even in the midday sun. The creatures maw was lit aflame, trails of fire sweeping out from bitween obsidian teeth. The creature roared a terrifying warcry, and it's forhead opened up, showing a brilliant white star within, before it fired a meteor sized beam of energy into the horizon. then, a visage of hell on Earth... an explosion of titanic proportions blosssomed out like a dome of hellfire, rushing back towards Rockfort. like a wave of lava.

The scene suddenly shifted. The monster changed, got much smaller and more human, a human that was flying! The wall of flames also switched position, coming from above rather than at sea level. like a second sun blooming out of the night sky. Merryl suddenly found herself not on a blasted beach, but on concrete ground in a ruined city.

"But, there are two particulars one should keep in mind about Edgar. First, if he was such an evil bastard at heart, why did he aid the others in their escape from Raccoon only 2 years before, holding the nuclear detonation at bay to buy them enough time... " spoke the man's voice again.

She was in Raccoon City, at the peak of the outbreak, mere seconds from the nuclear detonation!

Ed was floating above the city square one more time. His arms raised as he used his psionic powers to delay the explosion wave to buy his friends enough time to escape. The struggle against such a force one could see, even from this distance... He was sweating badly, his hands burned like white hot steel. Sweat was dripping from his face, and dribbling down his beard.

Suddenly, a familiar voice shouting orders to get into the road tunnel reached Merryl's ears. when she turned and looked, she could see a young Damien Handy guiding what few survivors he could into the transit tunnel to avoid the blast, he looked much younger than he did outside the bar, unscarred, healthy, yet exhausted, but very alert, and she could see he was doing his best not to look up at the ball of nuclear fire overhead.

And Merryl ran, and she ran... as fast as she could towards the only escape route, she headed for the tunnel. Once there, Handy shoved her in harshly, and hit the blast doors to close the tunnel off, then... the entire tunnel shook violently, and the loud rumbling of the atomic detonation quaked around them, flash cooking everything above ground.

Then, everything went black. and the stranger's voice sounded again from the darkness.

"You are wondering about the parrallels bitween what happened in Raccoon prior to the outbreak there, and these recent kidnappings, yes? Well, you would be right to be concerned... the same thing happened in Maylad too... People dissapearing right before the outbreaks occurred... Similar patters, nobody remembers seeing anything, strange rumors of boogeymen in the woods... And that same smell..."

She had just seen hell on earth. Raccoon City, vapourised in a flash of light and fire... destroying everything, infected or not...

"Or did you forget I just told you I was in Raccoon when it went to hell? Yes, I remember that smell... The smell of death and decay, the smell of gunpowder and explosives and cold steel shredding undead flesh... That is the smell of war, and in Raccoon's case, a war against an enemy unseen. I know war, better than anyone you will ever meet..."

That man appeared before her again, except this time, he looked younger, less weathered, without his armored coat, hat and shades... and he had a beard and mustache.

"Well...it was nice chatting with you... Wait, I never did catch your name."

"No... You didn't..."

The face changed, moving slightly, the beard receeded into his face, his features became more weathered and angular, almost gaunt, but not quite.

That stranger... WAS Edgar!

The older Edgar smiled visciously, before once more transforming into the titanic demon from Rockfort, it's eyes flashed hungrily at Merryl, before the creatures maw opened wide, and a jet of flame washed over her vision, which faded to whitenes...

PostSubject: Re: Room 14: Merryl's Apartment   Room 14: Merryl's Apartment Icon_minitimeThu Apr 25, 2013 8:44 pm

Merryl's eyes wink open back into the world of reality. She was facing the ceiling, her body felt sticky and warm, and her body was splayed over the covers of the bed, having never bothered to pull the covers over when she went to bed hours earlier. It takes another second to realize why she had awoken suddenly, her eyes widen slightly, her neck was tight, as well as her chest. She can't speak, only wheeze as she pulls her sweating palid face up. Sitting up she swings her arm out grasping for dear life with her wide pain and terror stricken eyes as she desperately gropes around for her inhaler. After knocking over her alarm clock, she finally finds the blasted thing, she was nearly falling out of bed when the uncontrollable coughing aroused. The inhaler drops to the ground, and the woman panics further, crawling out of bed and onto the floor, grasping the little devil tightly. On her knees, she arches her back and forces the inhaler into her mouth, and tried her best to calm down enough to attempt breathing.

"Come on Merryl...just one...two..." she thinks before the button depresses and she attempts to inhale. After a second passes, she does it again, sucking in as much as she could as the propellant is shot through her mouth. She pulls away coughing hoarsely into her arm, the coughing fit didn't seem to end. Though after some time passed she was coughing less and less and finally able to breathe normally again. She gasps, pressing her palms against the carpet. "Wow..." she says suddenly, albeit with a dryer voice. "That was my first real attack I guess." She winces as she says those few words. There she remained on her hands and knees for another moment or two longer, but when she was finally ready she slowly stands up. Her less than average bust sagged under her grey tank which was damp with sweat. She shivers, slowly walking over to the window and undoes the blinds. "That dream..." her eyelids lower slightly, her hazel gaze looking down into the street below. "It was so surreal..." she turns to her right hand, looking at her palm. "I felt...everything. Could smell everything..." she closes her palm and lets out a long sigh. "What the hell is going on with me..." she opens her eyes and walks back to her bed. She pauses, ducking under her bead and crawled halfway under before pulling out her suitcase. She flicks it open, and rummages through the inside pockets, pulling out a small gold cross upon a golden cord. The cross had emeralds and a diamond set into it's center. She clasps it tightly and closes her eyes. "I'm being foolish..." but regardless, she lays back in bed and loops the cord around her neck, letting the cross fall and land onto her breast plate. She wasn't very superstitious, but her Irish Grandmother had warned her of many ill omens growing up, that it was hard to drop old habits now. She sighs again, laying back onto her bed again, staring at the ceiling again. "A younger Damian...a younger Edgar...huh." she closes her eyes and wonders what time it was now that she nearly wet her self as well as croaked. She still felt a tad ill, but she can manage for now, now that the worst is over with. "Those images...." She opens her eyes and shivers.

As the hours pass from night to day, a gentle rap outside the windows of the apartments quickly become a rapid downpour of rain. Gray light shines through the windows. A watery breeze drifts through the windows of apartments who's windows are open, and an exploding boom of clashing thunder outside rattles the old windows, but nothing more.

Merryl wakes up to the sound of her alarm. After what had happened the night before, she had already pre-ironed her clothes. She walks into the bathroom and takes a shower, then after she dries herself off she brushes her teeth and slips on a fresh bra and a black thong. She walks back into the bedroom again and starts getting dressed.

Her outfit consisted of a green short-sleeved dress shirt which she kept the top three buttons undone, a black leather vest, and a pair of tight pinstripe dresspants. She slips on her socks and heeled shoes before slipping on the utility belt that had several pouches and her gun's holster. She slips her gold cross around her neck again, and then grabs the P226 standard issue beside her desk and slips it into her holster.

Now that she was ready for the day, she went to her closet and grabbed her umbrella. The storm outside felt threatening, but she had some business to do in town today. First though, she needed to grab a cup of coffee. She heads out of the room, locking the door behind her.
