Samantha stands on the vacant subway platform, a bag held tightly in her right hand, while her purse hung low over her left shoulder. She didn't realize how late it was, and she hoped to at least catch the last train back from the University to Tall Oaks Street. After helping that man at the inn secure a room, she had gone out to get some things from the University Store while it was still open, and now she felt like she had spent too much time there. She pouts. "Why does this happen to me?" she sighs at her complaint.

"Is there something the matter?" someone with a light, Serbian accent asked the generously blossomed young woman. An incredibly tall, pale man with a youthful face was beside her now. He wore a dark suit, a dark dress shirt, and a blood red tie with a golden and ruby set cross held by a golden cord upon the tie. He wore black sunglasses and wore a heavy black scarf that was wrapped around his neck and tossed over his right shoulder. Those sunglasses hid his eyes, and black hair fell around his neck. He turns to the woman, and his lips purse into a faint smile. He seemed pleasant enough, though his clothes were certainly out of season. It was late June...not January.

Sam let out a gasp, turning to the man quickly, her massive breasts bobbling when she swayed. "Um...no, I'm fine thank you..." she says sidestepping. "When the bloody hell did he get here? This place was deserted only a few seconds ago!" her mind screams. She chuckles nervously and looks down the tunnel. She would look back at the man and couldn't help but feel nervous. He was....creepy. From his vampire like accent to his strange get up...she wouldn't doubt he had fangs behind those lips and red blazing eyes behind his thick shades...

She gulped and turns her attention away from him. "Ok...Mr. Train...any day now..." she thinks to herself, feeling completely vulnerable around this creep...

A distant pair of bootfalls could be heard from atop the staircase of the subway entrance. each step echoed down the deserted platform.

A large man was decending the steps at a slow, deliberate pace, his armored boots clapping against the tiled floor. His black armored duster flutering slightly in the draft coming from topside, his hat and reflective shades obscured his face still. It was Edgar, whom had just left the company of Merryl topside, and was now in pursuit of the one who had sent that assassin after him at the church.

he knew the man's face, and his name, from the memories he had taken from the now unconscious assassin, and had now zeroed in on him.

But, a complication had arisen, They where not alone.

He walked past the pair, his visage overshadowed Sasa and Samantha, but stopped walking once he got 3 meters past them, he stopped, and without turning to face the man, Edgar spoke coldly, demonically almost. "Saša Petrovic, I presume... A pleasure to meet you..."

The man beside the woman lifts his head slightly, the smile not leaving his face. To be honest, at this angle, the way he tilts his head towards the ceiling almost gave the impression that the Serbian was blind. "Likewise." was his only response. Like Edgar to him, he also did not face the other man. Between them both was an innocent bystander...and if he had wanted to kill him he would have done so despite the innocent woman standing there. He also surmised since Sayaka was not with him that she was either defeated or had been met with a most terrible of fates. "Took you long enough, I see my escort did not make the journey with you...had she fallen ill since I sent her after you?" he asked, still not turning to the man.

She turns to the new arrival and Samantha stiffened like a board. Now, an even taller man had arrived, wearing an equally imposing out of season outfit and looked just as shady as the vampire beside her. She tells herself to avoid eyecontact with both of these creeps. Standing behind the yellow line, she simply wished for the damned train to arrive already so she could go home. She was sweating visibly now, their resonating imposing auras made her feel very faint, and turned her gut upside down. She didn't want any trouble...she really wanted to go home. NOW.

Edgar smirked only ever so slightly. "Traffic..." was Edgar's response to Saša's jibe about being late.

Then came the query reguarding Sayaka. "Well, lets just say she is resting her weary head in a sanctuary..." Edgar's shades flashed in the neon strobe lights of the subway. "Samantha... go down the far end of the platform, now..." Edgar stated calmly towards the woman standing bitween two dangerous men.

"There's no need...for her to leave. The train is about to arrive." he says as the subways whistle could be heard echoing down the tunnel. "See. We are all friends here, no need to worry friend." he says turning his head slightly to the woman. He then looks forward again. Soon the train appeared rolling past them and slowing down till a single car paused before them. The door opens and no one exits. As expected of the last train for the day. "Our train Edgar...is the one that follows after this one departs." he says in an ominous tone, still not facing the man.

She felt like a frozen block of ice between them both, almost shrieking when the taller man told her to calm down. How did he even know her name?! But it was soon over with the arrival of the train. The woman gasps, and quickly enters the empty train car, and didn't look back at the other two who did not step on board. "Last time I'm going to the University this late..." she says to herself, goosebumps riddling her sweaty body.

Edgar waited until Samantha was safely on board, and the train had fully departed, before he spoke again.

"Now that we are alone, I assume this is the part where you tell me exactly why you sent that girl after me, and what it is that you want in that you went to such lengths to find me after all this time... And be warned, I am not in a humorous mood, I don't want to hear some fairy tail about reviving Ferral from the grave, I heard enough of that pedantic whining from the girl." Edgar stated as he turned to finally face Saša directly.

He chuckled. "If you were in a more humorous mood I would have said: this is where I'll kill you. But since you are not, I shall be brief as I can." he turns to the slightly taller man and shrugs. "Of course not. Reviving Ferral, if there was even a way to do so, would be the last thing I would want to do. But what the poor girl believes...alas I cannot stop her from thinking so...but again, to tell her there is no such way to bring my father back would be quite hazardous to my life...So I am quite content on remaining quiet." he states turning back to the subway tunnel.

"You are not one easily found, Comrade." he finished, allowing his words to sink in to Edgar's skull.

Edgar merely looked at the man, before a slight chuckle began to escape his lips, slowly building into full blown laughter.

"Hahahahahaa! Oh my dear lord! The prodigal son comes seeking the fathers apprentice? I didn't even know the old man had ever layed with a woman! Heheheheh... Well now, you suprise me boy. And now you want something from me, is that it? After all the trouble you wnt through to find me, I suppose I could consider your request, depending on what it is, but, you WILL tell me what it is, right now..." Edgar spoke, and his voice changed back to normal, almost non threatening compared to what it was.

He shrugged. "Not exactly. I'm not related by blood, but he took me in when I was young. We weren't close. But he's the closest thing I have to a father." he says with no emotion. "No...I'd rather keep him dead. It makes things less complicated that way." he then turns to Edgar directly, removing his sunglasses. A pair of light blue eyes looked at the superhuman. "I need a sample of your blood. A couple samples. For medical research purposes." he folds the sunglasses and slides them into his breast pocket, raising his hand to stop Ed from speaking just yet. "Not like Umbrella...nor my father. I'm not interested in your Genesis...or whatever you have mutated to now. No, I'm more interested in your genes. My people....believe they may be beneficial to our survival. And..these days, not only Bio-Terrorists have access to B.O.W.s. In return...my 'Brotherhood' will help you in any way. From having anyone you need being killed...to info such as who may have submitted that tape of you thirteen years ago." he says, pulling up a bag. "As a forward payment...this is the real video feed taken that day. Unedited...with a different ending. I could simply let it rot away in some storage facility...I could burn it...that is up to you." he says pulling the CD out from the bag. "The things we make these days...can be so fragile." he says letting it flop carelessly in his hand.

Edgar almost laughed again "Sounds like Ferral was running an orphinage..." but then, Saša's next words hit him like a metrick tonne of bricks, and that stunned him for a mere millisecond.

Edgar then took off his own shades, letting his crimson eyes fall upon the pale bue ones of Saša.

"If you know the truth of my blood, and that footage proves you do, then you know letting the Demonic genome would be an absolute disaster in the making... Why do you need such a thing Saša? Is this to escalate an already runaway arms race? Or are you intending to make more superhumans like me?" Edgar asked, before leaning forward towards the smaller man. "And I already know who produced the tape... The problem is proving it... 'They' are not people who can be trifled with. 'She' is still here, on Earth, afterall... and if 'She' can defeat me so easily, and deflect my most powerful shot at the time, I doubt more of me is going to tip the balance in my favour..."

He lowered his head, his eyes becoming slightly darker. "It was delivered to me from my father's personal vault about seven years ago. I was delivered a key and a location. And I found this. Since that time, my brothers and sisters have been attacked and knocked back by a bitter rival. And in recent years, our said rival has even used Bioweapons to terrorize my Brotherhood." He pauses to clear his throat. "I'm not here to help you Edgar. Your here to help me. Though by helping me, you are given access to the full data regarding July 13th, 2000. If needed...I have enough influence to make the world realize it was wrong about you." he lowers his arm, and looks up at the man again. "I'm not interested in the war your waging against Hell...or your charming mother." he said with a slight chuckle.

Edgar's eyebrows quirked slightly. "You are a Templar, Khristian... I knew the little bastard, 13 years ago... My my... it looks like I was not the only one buried undergound for 13 years like a mole." Edgar smiled once more. "Well, I don't understand how one small merc group from a back-ass country like Edonia managed to push you, a multinational assasin order, back so far. Don't tell me your order has gone soft since leaving the Vatican" Edgar displayed his telepathic powers with that statement.

"And yet, you want me to entrust my powers, my very being, to your Templar order, so you can win a few battles against this Edonian group? Templar knights of the holy order, forced to utilise the one thing they have been sworn to destroy at any and all costs, the power of Demon blood... I guess your situation really is that desperate... But if that is the case, why not approach me for direct aid? It takes time to alter humans with genomes, and then even more time to train them in the use of it... That is time you don't have, and even then, they will never be as powerful as I am, since I was born with it, it is a part of me... You cannot replicate this, even with cloning."

Edgar then took a step back, and physically looked the man over. "Besides... You also know about what else James had going on, don't you..." it was not a question.

He simply nods. "Ah yes...that bio-enhanced child of the...well, you already know." he chuckles. "It's not the mercenaries that are the problem. What may look as being 'weak' is actually called strategy. I only claimed to the head of my Brotherhood recently. It also doesn't help I inherited a demoralized Order...it be foolish to do anything too hasty." he says with a sigh. "But I'll be honest with you...I never favored Chess like my father. The game bores me. Right now, I'm just using my gut. So far, we've been doing just fine." he then turns to Ed and laughs openly and hearty. "I do what we must in order to survive...and unlike my predecessors before me...I'm not caught in a single minded goal. We are a new breed of Templar...and hopefully with your help we can survive. Like I said before, you are a hard man to find Edgar...even if we had met directly I wasn't so sure if you'd even give me time of day." he smiles. "Also...I admit, I fear you could have torn my head off-why else would I send a psychopath to collect you? I'm not that crazy." he chuckles again. He lowers his head. "I know how your Demon Blood works...We had a sample...only one from when Father had collected you from Rockfort." he says. "We synthesized it...were able to tweak most of the bad elements out. However...we injected what we obtained into a sample size of Dreaded Thirteen...that was the name of our product named from the project we conducted. Thirteen vials, thirteen near dead Templars...one lived the others were...sacrificed I guess one could call it." He turns to Ed again. "What we got from the sole survivor was a being that was no longer a man, but was also not a creature. He is immune to all viruses and parasites...weapon or natural." he turned back to the tunnel. "I guess...in some strange twist your blood would have the key you and my father and that fool Sanchez were looking for all those years before...I guess it's a blessing you didn't." he shrugs turning back to him.

When he mentioned what else his father had going on, he looks away again. That was a pretty vague comment. There was no 'yes' or 'no' reply one could simply say. "Ferral was working on a lot of things..." was his only logical reply. What Ed was specifically referencing he had naught in the slightest.

Edgar crossed his arms and frowned. "If you already had samples of my blod, and refined it, you would not need me, unless the refinement procedure you used was flawed, and you didn't save enough of the original to synthesize more. And then you used your refined model to try and duplicate the proccess on unaltered human beings... That was not very well planned was it? And so now you come to me, the bearer of the original, who also happens to be the last remaining person who truly knows how it actually works."

When he mentioned what else his father had going on, he looks away again. That was a pretty vague comment. There was no 'yes' or 'no' reply one could simply say. "Ferral was working on a lot of things..." was his only logical reply. What Ed was specifically referencing he had naught in the slightest.

"If you knew James took me from Rockfort, then you must have known where he took me to, and that also means you know where I have been all this time..." Edgar uncrossed his arms, and a blank look comes over his face as he considers one alternative option.

"I may not be able to give you my blood directly kid... But... I have a counter offer you may want to consider... But the only way this is going to work, is if I show you directly, which means you will miss your train..."

He sighed. "There was a reason why it was called the Dreaded Thirteen. By the time we finished and found a workable compound there was not enough left." he states. "D13 wasn't completely flawed...it did perform its job as expected." he says pulling away his scarf, and undoing his collar of his dress shirt a button or two. He turns to face Edgar again, and this time he raises his head to the point where he was looking at the ceiling. Two large and gruesome scars exposed themselves. Nasty yet precise thrust marks crawled their way up his neck and into the soft spot just under his jaw. The holes looked to be healing. "I have no explanation how I survived exposure to D13." he starts, lowering his head again and readjusting his tie and scarf. "Other than perhaps my genes were able to bond with the altered compound of D13. But yet, I am still a mortal." he says turning to the stairs.

"We really didn't have a choice. We were hasty and I went with my gut. I learned."

Ed being taken to the Antarctic Base was no mystery to him. "I guess you may have caught my bluff...but I guess we simply wanted to see how you would fair in a world that despised you. After all...your neither friend nor foe to us...yet." he states darkly.

He turns to him bemused by Edgar's mention of a counter offer. He raised his eyebrows and chuckled. "Comrade...there was no train."

Edgar leaned in, and with his eyes narrowed, he examined the incisions with an expert eye.

"You used rather large doses judging from the size of the incision markers left behind. And these are quite recent. I can tell you right off the bad what may have gone wrong, but, until I can get a better look, I won't be certain..."

Edgar stood back upright and eyed the man for a little longer before replying. "When playing the game of thrones, you must play to win the game, even if it means you must do things you do not like, and in this case, yes, it requires discretion and patience, much like a protracted game of chess... You will learn more, before the end of the game."

"At this point, I am neither friend nor foe to anyone right now... I am the joker, the wild card in the deck... BUT, like you, I have my own mission I must complete"

"Consider it a metaphor then." Edgar grinned. "This is going to be a long trip, prepare yourself, and wrap up tight kid, it is cold where we are going..."
And with that said, Edgar raised both hands, and Sasa's world turned into a kaledioscopic tunnel of light, before fading into whiteness.
